CS-VLA 171 General ED Decision 2003/18/RM The aeroplane must be longitudinally, directionally, and laterally stable under [CS-VLA 173](#_DxCrossRefBm584936644) to [181](#_DxCrossRefBm584936643). In addition, the aeroplane must show suitable stability and control 'feel' (static stability) in any condition normally encountered in service, if flight tests show it is necessary for safe operation.
