CS-VLA 77 Balked landing ED Decision 2003/18/RM For balked landings, it must be possible to maintain - (a) A steady angle of climb at sea level of at least 1:30; or (b) Level flight at an altitude of 915 m (3 000 ft) and at a speed at which the balked landing transition has been shown to be safe, with - (1) Take-off power; (2) The landing gear extended; and (3) The wing flaps in the landing position, except that if the flaps may be safely retracted in two seconds or less, without loss of altitude and without sudden changes of angle of attack or exceptional piloting skill, they may be retracted.
