CS-E 290 Hand Turning ED Decision 2003/9/RM It must be possible to rotate the crankshaft in controlled slow motion. Where this is effected by hand-turning gear as distinct from the Propeller, a means of safe guarding the operator against injury, if the Engine starts or kicks back, must be provided. It must not be possible to damage the Engine by use of the hand-turning gear.
