AMC 22.895(a) Water ballast ED Decision 2003/13/RM Depending on the complexity of the water ballast system it would normally be necessary to carry out failure modes and effects analysis which should include likely dormant failure modes. If water ballast is carried in more than one tank: (1) simultaneous release of water ballast should be achieved by a single lever operation. (2) the rate of jettison of water ballast should not result in the centre of gravity moving outside the limitations established under [CS 22.23](#_DxCrossRefBm2056272037).
