AMC 22.481 Tail-down landing conditions ED Decision 2003/13/RM Where iy cannot be determined by more rational means, a value of:  may be used: LR in this case to be taken as the overall length of the fuselage without rudder. In designing the tail skid, side loads should be accounted for in addition to the vertical load determined as above.
