GM1 ADR-DSN.B.200 Stopways ED Decision 2022/006/R (a) The transition from one slope to another should be accomplished by a curved surface with a rate of change not exceeding: (1) 0.3 % per 30 m (minimum radius of curvature of 10 000 m) where the code number is 3 or 4; and (2) 0.4 % per 30 m (minimum radius of curvature of 7 500 m) where the code number is 1 or 2. (b) The friction characteristics of an unpaved stopway should not be substantially less than that of the runway with which the stopway is associated. (c) The economy of a stopway can be entirely lost if, after each usage, it should be regraded and compacted. Therefore, it should be designed to withstand at least a certain number of loadings of the aeroplane which the stopway is intended to serve without inducing structural damage to the aeroplane. (d) Notwithstanding that a stopway may have a paved surface, it is not intended that bearing strength data need to be developed for a stopway(see Part-ADR.OPS of [Regulation (EU) No 139/2014](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A32014R0139&qid=1646919573705) for the method on reporting the bearing strength of the pavement).
