CS ADR-DSN.B.090 Surface of runways ED Decision 2016/027/R (a) The surface of a runway should be constructed without irregularities that would impair the runway surface friction characteristics or otherwise adversely affect the take-off or landing of an aeroplane. (b) A paved runway should be so constructed or resurfaced as to provide surface friction characteristics at or above the minimum friction level. (c) The average surface texture depth of a new surface should be not less than 1.0 mm. (d) When the surface is grooved or scored, the grooves or scorings should be either perpendicular to the runway centre line or parallel to non-perpendicular transverse joints where applicable.
