AMC1 ACNS.E.LAD.420 Position accuracy for survivable accidents ED Decision 2021/008/R ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF COMPLIANCE APPLICABLE TO ALL SOLUTIONS (a) Compliance with [CS ACNS.E.LAD.420](#_DxCrossRefBm573002940) should be demonstrated through the assumptions on the performance of the communication infrastructure that are provided in accordance with [CS ACNS.E.LAD.320](#_DxCrossRefBm573002946). (b) Compliance with [CS ACNS.E.LAD.420](#_DxCrossRefBm573002940) should be demonstrated under nominal GNSS satellite constellation conditions. (c) If an ELT is used to comply with [CS ACNS.E.LAD.420](#_DxCrossRefBm573002940), that ELT should: (1) be a second-generation automatic ELT or an ELT(DT); (2) transmit an encoded position and use a message-coding protocol that is compatible with the position accuracy objective of [CS ACNS.E.LAD.420](#_DxCrossRefBm573002940); (3) have capabilities G (internal/integral GNSS receiver) and C (crash survivability); and (4) be automatically activated upon detection of a crash impact.
