AMC8 ORO.FC.232 EBT programme assessment and training topics ED Decision 2021/002/R SCENARIO ELEMENTS AND COMPETENCY MAPPING (a) The operator may develop scenario elements and a competency map that are more relevant to its operation. (b) When developing scenario elements, the operator should ensure that there can be no negative training when asking pilots to induce their own errors. (c) Competencies mapped are those considered critical in managing the scenario. They are determined according to the following principles: (1) those competencies considered most critical to the successful management of the defined threat or error; or (2) those competencies most likely to be linked to the root cause of poor performance in the case of unsuccessful management of a defined threat or error. (d) The competency map may indicate scenarios or combinations of scenarios for development of particular competencies. (e) The competency map indicates the most critical competencies suggested by design, but the instructor should always assess all observed competencies.
