ATS.TR.245 Use of surface movement surveillance equipment at aerodromes Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/469 Where deemed necessary, in the absence of visual observation of all or part of the manoeuvring area or to supplement visual observation, advanced surface movement guidance and control systems (A-SMGCS) or other suitable surveillance equipment, shall be utilised by the air traffic services unit in order to: (a) monitor the movements of aircraft and vehicles on the manoeuvring area; (b) provide directional information to pilots and vehicle drivers as necessary; (c) provide advice and assistance for the safe and efficient movement of aircraft and vehicles on the manoeuvring area.
