ATS.TR.145 Suspension of visual flight rules operations on and in the vicinity of an aerodrome Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/469 (a) Any or all VFR operations on and in the vicinity of an aerodrome may be suspended whenever safety requires such action by any of the following units, persons or authorities: (1) the approach control unit or the appropriate area control centre; (2) the aerodrome control tower; (3) the competent authority. (b) When any or all VFR operations on and in the vicinity of an aerodrome are suspended, the aerodrome control tower shall observe the following procedures: (1) hold all VFR departures; (2) recall all local flights operating under VFR or obtain approval for special VFR operations; (3) notify the approach control unit or area control centre as appropriate of the action taken; (4) notify all operators, or their designated representatives, of the reason for taking such action, if necessary or requested.
