GM1 UAS.SPEC.100 The use of certified equipment and certified unmanned aircraft ED Decision 2019/021/R GENERAL For the purposes of [UAS.SPEC.100](#_DxCrossRefBm1106656791), ācertified equipmentā is considered to be any equipment for which the relevant design organisation has demonstrated compliance with the applicable certification specifications and received a form of recognition from EASA that attests such compliance (e.g. an ETSO authorisation). This process is independent from the CE marking process. The use of certified equipment or certified UA in the āspecificā category of operation does not imply a transfer of the flight activities into the ācertifiedā category of operation. However, the use of certified equipment or certified UA in the āspecificā category should be considered as a risk reduction and/or mitigation measure in the SORA.
