AMC2 NCC.IDE.A.220 Flight over water ED Decision 2013/021/R LIFE-RAFTS AND EQUIPMENT FOR MAKING DISTRESS SIGNALS (a) The following should be readily available with each life-raft: (1) means for maintaining buoyancy; (2) a sea anchor; (3) life-lines and means of attaching one life-raft to another; (4) paddles for life-rafts with a capacity of six or less; (5) means of protecting the occupants from the elements; (6) a water-resistant torch; (7) signalling equipment to make the pyrotechnic distress signals described in ICAO Annex 2, Rules of the Air; (8) 100 g of glucose tablets for each four, or fraction of four, persons that the life-raft is designed to carry: (9) at least 2 litres of drinkable water provided in durable containers or means of making sea water drinkable or a combination of both; and (10) first-aid equipment. (b) As far as practicable, items listed in (a) should be contained in a pack.
