CAT.IDE.H.250 Hand fire extinguishers Regulation (EU) No 965/2012 (a) Helicopters shall be equipped with at least one hand fire extinguisher in the flight crew compartment. (b) At least one hand fire extinguisher shall be located in, or readily accessible for use in, each galley not located on the main passenger compartment. (c) At least one hand fire extinguisher shall be available for use in each cargo compartment that is accessible to crew members in flight. (d) The type and quantity of extinguishing agent for the required fire extinguishers shall be suitable for the type of fire likely to occur in the compartment where the extinguisher is intended to be used and to minimise the hazard of toxic gas concentration in compartments occupied by persons. (e) The helicopter shall be equipped with at least a number of hand fire extinguishers in accordance with Table 1, conveniently located to provide adequate availability for use in each passenger compartment.
