According to Article 4f(3)(a)(i) of Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011[15] , the VCA type rating training should comply with the requirements of Section A of Appendix 9 to Annex I (Part-FCL). Inter alia, this means that the general principles for the use of FSTDs for the training, testing and checking for single-pilot aircraft (Appendix 9, Section A, point (1c)) apply.
