ATM/ANS.OR.C.005(a)(1) Safety support assessment and assurance of changes to
the functional system
ED Decision 2017/001/R
GENERAL
(a) The
safety support assessment should be conducted by the service provider itself.
It may also be carried out by another organisation, on its behalf, provided
that the responsibility for the safety support assessment remains with the
service provider.
(b) A
safety support assessment needs to be performed when a change affects a part
of the functional system managed by a service provider other than an air
traffic services provider and it is being used in the provision of its
services. The safety support assessment or the way it is conducted does not
depend on whether the change is a result of a business decision or a decision
to improve the service performance.
